..........so many promises that are giving to us through out our lives, that have lead us to a point where we are very skeptical when people make promises to us.
From childhood when we are promised a certain reward for a job done well in school. To a promotion in our later years in life on a certain job we been at, working delightedly through our excellence. Promises may or may not have been kept, but through these experiences we have become a skeptic when someone or company promises us certain things.
